Player agree (6- year) contract after giving Number.21 shirt
Leicester are braced for Arsenal to make a final attempt to snap up Youri Tielemans next month before he becomes a free agent.
The Gunners are long-term admirers of the Foxes’ Belgian international midfielder, but have never elected to make a concerted push to take him to north London.
But now Tielemans is out of contract in the summer and can speak to overseas clubs from January onwards to agree a pre-contract.
Any decent offer will be very tempting for the Thai-owned Foxes whose financial fortunes have been hit this term with no European football. Leicester, who are 13th in the Premier League, return to action at MK Dons in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
They paid £40million for Tielemans from Monaco in 2019 after a successful loan and could potentially recoup up to half that sum if they sell the ace in January.
Tielemans opened up about his contract situation in September: "I’m not going to speak too much about my contract situation at the moment.
