Arsenal transfer news: Mikel Arteta gives Latest update on Declan Rice, Mason Mount, Moises Caicedo👇

Arsenal are looking to bolster the midfield in the summer transfer window and they have earmarked West Ham skipper Declan Rice as their top target, according to The Telegraph.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been arguably the most consistent player for the Hammers in the past couple of seasons, but he looks likely to depart in the summer.

He has a contract at the London Stadium until 2024, with the Hammers having the option to extend his deal for another year.

Rice has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League, and West Ham are unlikely to stand in his way, provided they get the right offer.

David Moyes has made it clear that he wants Rice to stay here, and any potential suitor will have to pay British record transfer fee to lure him away.

Arsenal will get around £50 million at least for qualifying in the Champions League, and they would be able to raise more funds by selling players like Kieran Tierney, Nicolas Pepe, and Folarin Balogun.

Arsenal transfer news: other midfield targets

The Telegraph claim that the Gunners are also keen to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. They made an attempt to sign him in the January window, but their £70 million bid was rejected.

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is also one of the targets for Arsenal, with the Gunners having held exploratory conversations to sign the England midfielder.

Mount will soon enter the final year of his deal at Chelsea. There are suggestions that he could sign an extension, but a move away from Stamford Bridge can’t be ruled out.

Rice would be a stellar signing for the Gunners, but they could face strong competition from Premier League rivals like Liverpool.

He is not only good at defensive roles but has improved a lot with his distribution. Rice is good at carrying the ball forward and he can score important goals as well.
